This event brings together a diverse array of local talent, celebrating and sharing the rich tapestry of cultures from around the world.

Line Up

Kalyna Choir

A showcase of traditional Ukrainian songs.

Kalyna was organised by Ukrainian women who came to Winchester and met each other to discover that they have the same goal - to share their culture with different nations of people. Kalyna live to be on the stage in their traditional dresses that bring much joy to audiences.

 

Anna Paniotova

Anna Paniotova is a dance teacher and performer, celebrating dance and Ukrainian culture.

Whilst in Ukraine, Anna worked with children's dance groups. In 2022 she decided to move to the UK because of the war that started in her country. Now she is continuing her passion for dance by taking part in different events across Winchester and other cities, and supporting Ukraine and her culture.

 

Ava Solomonova-Satchwell

Ava is 12 years old. Some might remember her as a Goat-girl - lead role of the Ukrainian Nativity that was staged in the Guildhall, Winchester.

She is a regular participant of Ukrainian events, an author of a small story about the war and a laureate of an International vocal competition for young singers in 2021 in Odesa.

 

Zarina

Zarina first started singing when she was only 5. She has performed at numerous events, celebrating Ukrainian culture and supporting our community.
 

Shrewish Women by Truth Be Told Theatre Company

Shrewish Women by Truth be Told Theatre won Play to the Crowd's 2024 Top Hat Competition and are students from the BA Acting Course at University of Winchester.

A Live Art installation where four shrewish women embrace divine femininity through song, movement, and text from Shakespeare’s “timeless classic” The Taming of the Shrew. They possess the form of Victorian Shrews with masks and costume, celebrating women who united in free spirit, claiming their shrewdness for themselves.

 

432 Nomads: Clash of Cultures

432 Nomads presents a vibrant cultural showcase featuring lively dances, evocative poetry, and traditional music played on authentic instruments. This immersive performance tells the stories of diverse communities through rhythm and movement, offering an unforgettable journey into the rich heritage of migrant cultures.
