After a lifetime of glamour and mystery in pantomimes, Dame Lily has been looking into her theatrical heritage, hoping to uncover the why and whatever of Pantomime Dames.

Her extensive studies have unearthed the link from Thespis, through Shakespeare and Drury Lane, to the birth of that most elusive of theatrical creatures, The Dame.

Helped (or hindered) by Julian Eardley, she has agreed to shine a light on their chequered career and to allow a peep backstage into the mysteries of her Mata Hari allure and haute couture stylings.
